PSG 6-1 Slovan, Liverpool Fight Back: Champions League Matchday 1 Debrief + Parc Guide [Sept 16]
Torres hat-trick, Dembele x2, Szoboszlai-Mac Allister, Yamal-Raphinha, Odegaard. 18 scores Sept 8-10 + how to do Parc des Princes calmly.
Key takeaways
- PSG 6-1 Slovan (Torres x3, Dembele x2, Ruiz), Liverpool 2-1 Atletico, Barca 5-1 Feyenoord, Arsenal 1-0 Napoli.
- Matchday 1 Sept 8-10, 36-team league phase: 8 games each, top 8 to last 16.
- PSG chase historic third straight title — next: at Man City, then home Barca.
- Travel tip: Parc nights work calmly via Porte Saint-Cloud + Auteuil pre-match walk.
September 9, 21:00, Parc des Princes: Dembele hammers a rebound, nods a deflected cross, Torres taps a third before half an hour. 6-1 at the end. Not the score that matters most — the way PSG did it without yet winning in Ligue 1. That tension is the story of Matchday 1.
From the press box — Elena Marsh: No betting, no tips. Just what the 18 games changed and how to live the next Parc night without stress. Sources: UEFA, PSG.fr, France24/AFP Sept 9-10.

5 takeaways (sport only)
- Torres is the story. Hat-trick on European debut for PSG (32’, 47’, composed sweep, 57’ knee-shin that spun in), plus Dembele 2+assist. World Cup final scorer leaves Barca, stars in Paris.
- PSG flawed but ruthless. Yet to win in Ligue 1 (Torres: focus on league first), but Luis Enrique’s press already clicks. Slovan coached by Yaya Toure — brave, opened.
- Liverpool need comebacks. Llorente scores again at Anfield (5 in 3 visits), Szoboszlai backheel-assisted equaliser, Mac Allister left-foot winner. Iraola: winning UCL debut.
- Barca youth rules. Yamal youngest captain at 19, free-kick, Raphinha double. Arsenal gritty 1-0 at Napoli via Odegaard — title credentials away.
- French outsiders watch. Lille (Betis) and Lens (Slavia Prague) start the long road to PSG’s crown. Lille Pierre-Mauroy nights are superb value vs Parc.

Parc des Princes calm guide (family, no alcohol)
- Get there: Metro 9 Porte Saint-Cloud + 10-min walk via Auteuil green streets, not Porte d’Auteuil crowds. Arrive 90 min early, gates flow.
- Before: Auteuil silent walk (Jardin des Serres, Rue d’Auteuil cafes/juice), no large bags, ID + e-ticket offline.
- During: family stands earlier entry, ear protection for kids, food: chicken-sandwich + sodas, water points.
- After: leave 5 min before whistle or 15 min after, Rue du Commandant Guilbaud quiet exit to Metro 9. Night bus + tram T3 nearby.
- Sleep: 16th Auteuil/Exelmans quieter than centre, direct Metro 9/10. Combine with quiet Paris walks next morning and off-season Paris.
No alcohol, no betting content on this site — if you travel with fans who drink, family blocks + early exit keep the night calm.
Parc 20:15. Light, anthem, then noise. Arrive early, leave smart.
